User Reviews

User feedback is mixed: many praise Clean Email for time savings and effective filtering across multiple accounts, but repeated complaints about pricing, billing, reliability, and support undermine satisfaction. The app works well when paid features are available, yet the subscription model and stability problems are the most mentioned drawbacks.
Pros
  • Saves a lot of time by filtering and cleaning the inbox, resulting in a noticeably cleaner inbox with minimal manual work.
  • Intuitive UI and effective filtering/categorization that helps manage large inboxes.
  • Helpful for managing multiple email accounts from a single app.
  • Greatly reduces stress by making email management feel achievable.
Cons
  • Core features are gated behind a premium subscription, leading many to feel it’s a bait-and-switch.
  • Billing problems, including immediate trial charges and occasional duplicate charges with poor refunds.
  • Reliability issues like freezing, inability to delete items, and changes not reflecting in the mail app.
  • Login/account issues and generally poor customer support.

If you pay for it, it would be a really useful swap, but pretty much anything that they allow you to do without paying for it doesn’t really help much stuff you could do on your own through email app Also they subscribe you to their emails lol so all I got from this app was a new subscription in my email

I’m extremely disappointed with this app. What used to be a straightforward purchase has turned into a cash grab. Features that were originally included when I bought the app are now locked behind a “premium” subscription, and I’ve started getting charged for things that were once free. This feels incredibly misleading and unfair. If I paid for the app, I should not be forced into ongoing payments just to keep using the same basic features. It’s a classic bait-and-switch—get users in, then slowly take away functionality unless they pay more. The worst part is there was no clear communication or justification for these changes. Just sudden charges and reduced access. That’s not how you treat paying customers. I would not recommend this app to anyone unless you’re okay with being nickel-and-dimed for features you already paid for. Very frustrating experience.
