Features & Capabilities

2FAS is the easiest way to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to verify your identity and securely log in to accounts, keeping your personal data protected from cyber threats — all from one free app. It’s designed to be private, secure, and simple, making 2FA accessible to everyone. The project is open-source, transparent, and community-driven.

Key features include offline operation, backups and restore, device-wide syncing, and optional passcode or biometric protection. 2FAS does not store passwords or metadata and works without an account. It supports TOTP and HOTP, offers quick setup guides, multi-language support, and one-tap authentication via the 2FAS browser extension, helping you log in faster and more securely.

Works as expected. Can you add an option to have the widget on lock screen always show the number? (I know it’s not “secure” but saves me from logging in). Can you create it for Amazfit watches? Thanks

It’s been several years since 2FAS was rejected by PrivacyGuides due to a botched implementation of end-to-end-encryption in iCloud backups. The fact that this was botched in the first place is troubling enough, but even worse is that it took 3 years to improve it. How many people were left at risk using the backup while 2FAS took their time to fix it? I like the app, but I am not confident the 2FAS team know what they’re doing in terms of privacy. Check threads on PrivacyGuides for deep details. It’s quite disappointing. Anyway, 2FAS has claimed to have released a fix in 2026, but that to my knowledge hasn’t been audited externally, so I still haven’t enabled iCloud backups.
