User Reviews

Beat Street is praised for its visuals and accessible, nostalgic beat-’em-up feel with simple, yet deep controls and minimal ads. However, players repeatedly report stability problems (crashes, data loss), input responsiveness issues, a gated progression economy (energy/gems) with pay-to-win vibes, and unreliable cloud saving. Addressing these stability, control reliability, and save-sync issues could significantly improve the long-term experience.
Pros
  • Stunning retro pixel art with smooth animations and a Streets of Rage–like vibe.
  • Intuitive controls with surprising depth in combos.
  • Very few ads; near ad-free experience.
  • Fun, accessible gameplay with nostalgic charm.
Cons
  • Crashes and stability issues, including updates causing crashes and data loss (cloud save progress problems).
  • Controls can fail to register taps or actions (e.g., special moves or pausing), hindering gameplay.
  • Progression is gated by energy and currency (gems), giving a pay-to-win or grindy feel.
  • Saving progress and cloud sync (Game Center) is unreliable, causing lost progress or purchases.

I get that the game is made to play on portrait mode, but when I’m able to rotate my device and play just fine (for the most part) it’s so much better for me. Ofc landscape mode doesn’t work all the way cuz I wasn’t able to use my ultimate ability nor pause unless I was in portrait mode. Please fix it! I think everyone would love both modes if they both work respectively!

This game is amazing! There’s amazing pixel art and animations, and in general just very nice visuals, there is ads though, but, here’s the best part, there’s BARLY ANY ADS AT ALL! In fact there’s so little ads it’s basically an ad free game, and the controls are outstanding and very simple and creative! Get this game if you’re looking at it right now! It’s fun, it’s original, and very good! 👍
