Wanted to set up a savings account since my current one has no interest, so I came to SoFi because I had heard many good things. I set up the account: gave them all my information, my name, SSN, address, the whole nine yards. Was prompted to add money to my new savings account and link direct deposit, which I did. I added $475 from my original savings account into this one. This was all done on the browser, so I decided to download the app. Upon doing so, I log in and check the banking section of the app, where it tells me I have no accounts set up. When I go to recreate the savings account I had made earlier, it tells me my SSN is already being used, but there’s no way to retrieve this account that suddenly does not exist. I figured I’d sign out and sign back in, in case it was a glitch, but when I did that, they locked my account because the password I had set literally minutes ago now did not exist and was wrong. It has been a day and still no reset password email has come through. Take this as a warning before you throw away almost $500.

I know you’re going to see so many positive reviews but I promise you they’re all fake. I’ve used this horrible bank since 2024 I’m glad I left and here are my reasons. 1: no actually helpful representatives due to only giving limited help in certain situations. 2: No support for U.S service members stationed overseas that want a good APY due to “ being out those CONUS “ which is actually horrible, literally any bank back home would let me open an account. My 3rd and final reason. Horrible AI and detection systems for verification!! Even after I verified and made many calls I was denied. Even after I had brought my old investment account back into standing and closed it SoFi somehow opened my account back up and then made it go negative???? Then I proceeded to get an email about it and now I’m not able to open a checking or savings accounts like what??? What company even does this 0/10 stay away from this horrible bank wish I could give it 0 stars.
