User Reviews
Pros
- Portable, accurate, and efficient timing with the sensor and app.
- Easy to set up and use, enabling quick testing of multiple drills.
- Versatile across a wide range of tests (speed, sprint distances, agility drills, and vertical jump).
- Cost-effective compared with traditional timing gates and offers value for money.
- Good data reporting and motivating features (instant measurements, new-record alerts, and quick data transfer).
Cons
- Inconsistent timing/recording: sometimes fails to capture times, especially at longer distances.
- Setup and connection can be frustrating: difficult pairing, lack of clear instructions.
- Distance/length testing limitations: performs poorly beyond about 40 yards; accuracy drops for longer distances.
- Limited documentation or guidance on charging and setup.
- Occasional bugs or app issues affecting reliability.

The JAWKU Speed & Jump are so portable, accurate, and efficient to use. All it takes is the app on our coaches phones, and the sensor and we can accurately track any 10yrd dash, 40yrd dash, or any sprint/agility drill. Our old laser gates took so long to set up and were a hassle. JAWKU solved that problem. We recently just got JAWKU Jump and now we can test our athletes vertical jump heights from any where with only the phone and sensor. Highly recommend. Also, their support team is very helpful. We reached out wi the some questions and they explained to us that it is fine when the sensor disconnects at longer ranges as it will reconnect and transfer the data once back in range of the phone during the test.

Almost really cool! Maybe it’s my phone… but it’s hard for this to work if I’m testing anything over 40yd. I’ve tried so many different ways and still nada

Don’t get me wrong, I think the concept behind this Jawku speed system is very smart. I find the product very easy to set up and pretty fundamental as far as understanding the app.
But the one major problem I have with this system is the fact that… well… it hardly ever picks up on the times I run. I literally just finished doing two 30 meter time trials and it literally did not record either of them, pretty much messing up my ability to be able to track my improvement from the last time I did the same trial. It genuinely drives me crazy that everything can be so good about the app and the system itself, except for the most important aspect of the system.
I would be perfectly fine if the reaction timing, data records system, complexity of setting up etc were somewhat messed up if it meant I would at least be able to ensure that my times would be recorded. I honestly don’t know what else to say other than the fact they may have wasted a lot of potential with this system by simply not homing in on making sure the primary focus of the system actually worked.
