Want to join the global prayer movement? Operation World (OW), the definitive global prayer handbook, has been used by more than a million Christians to pray for the nations. Now as a mobile app you can receive reminders to pray for the “country of the day,” research statistics on each country and read the in-depth prayer request and praise reports given for each country of the world.

OW is widely regarded as the definitive volume of prayer information about the world and is the recipient of the ECPA Gold Medallion Award for Excellence in Evangelical Christian Literature.

OW has had seven editions published. The most recent is from 2010, which is a complete update of the 21st century edition, released in 2001. The previous edition was published in 1993. The original edition was produced in 1964, from South Africa, and was only 32 pages of basic information about 30 countries.

OW has been translated into several other languages: German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Korean, Chinese, Russian, and in part into Indonesian and Italian. The cumulative number of copies printed in all languages exceeds 2 million. The 7th edition was released in October of 2010.

I used to love reading the physical book that you can get, but I switched to the app when I didn’t see an updated version of the book come out for many years. They’ve been several instances where they’ve adopted secular woke ideology. For instance, when they are talking about American Christians needing to give reparations to descendants of slaves from hundreds of years ago.

It’s OK when it works, but most of the times it gets stuck on the country of the day and there’s no way to get back to the calander or to the other menus.
