GIF Maker by Momento

I downloaded this for a quick one-off project, like I’m guessing a lot of people do. As a brand new user, the experience was confusing and kind of annoying. A few specifics: • Photo access: The app constantly nags me to allow full library access. • Text editor: Adding text was hit or miss. Sometimes it’d show two lines, then collapse to one line that ran off the edge of the gif. And if I changed the font, left the editor, and came back, the font change stuck, but the selector still showed the default font name. Confusing. • Settings view: When adjusting saturation, hue, etc., the window was so small I could only see two settings at a time. • Video-to-gif frame rate: I tried to cut a 2-minute video down to a short gif, and it looks like the app dropped it to about 1 frame per second. I trimmed to the last 10 seconds and ended up with 9 frames total. Momento seems built more around auto-generating gifs (“Momentos”) from your existing photo library, and maybe it’s good at that. But that’s a narrow use case, and it doesn’t count for much when actually editing a gif is this much of a pain.
