U by Moen Smart Shower

We bought the moen shower a few years ago. This is our second smart shower. The first was about 5 years ago and worked great. This shower never worked like the first shower. We couldnt get it to connect to Alexa and the temp would not go above 105. Both things we could do on our previous house. The set up was also more challenging with 2.4 and 5 ghz networks. We now have new phones and are on 6ghz networks. The moen shower can not be found o the network, at all. My husband and i both have computer science degrees and he specialized in networks. Our shower has also become unreliable. We regularly have to unplug and plug back in. I now hate my shower. I don’t like cold showers. Eventually we will be replacing the system to a reliable manual system. So disappointing.

Just like the reviews say, connecting to the device never works. I have been on phone with support, done everything their online logs say to do, I have a UniFi WiFi system with 6 access points and have created a separate 2.4ghz channel. Nothing works. It keeps telling me the app has timed out. Not only do the options within the U by Moen unit not make sense without their directions (for instance, having to choose to setup an Android/Google device in order to setup your iPhone), even when you do that, you wait for 5 full minutes for it to just tell you that app has timed out. It shouldn’t be this hard. I try every now and then when I have free time and we’re going on a month now of it not being connected to our phone. Without pairing to the app (and I don’t know if you can do it in the app), I can’t dim or just turn the screen off for night/evening showers or just to turn off in general, you can’t change the clock or screen, etc. It’s very frustrating
