A spelling game for children ages 5 to 8. Your child hears a word, then builds it from letters that arrive scrambled. Every letter says its own name as your child places it.

What your child does

A word is spoken out loud. Its letters slide in out of order. Your child drags each one into place, hearing the letter named as they move it, and the whole word is spoken again once it's finished.

Nothing is filled in to start. Your child spells the entire word, which is the difference between this and an app that asks them to pick a missing letter.

Three sets that actually get harder

Set one is four-letter words: dog, bee, rock, pail. Set two moves to two syllables. Set three runs to eleven letters, all the way out to grasshopper and caterpillar. So the same theme works for a five year old in the morning and their older sister that evening.

120 words across 5 themes

Jungle, Mountains, Backyard, Beach and Garden. Every theme holds 24 words in three sets of eight, and the sets were sorted by the phonics pattern each word needs, not by how long it looks. Short vowels and blends come first, then silent-e and vowel teams, then compound and multisyllable words.

Eight words is short enough to finish in one sitting.

Made for children who are still learning their letters

Every word and every letter is spoken. Nothing on screen needs an adult to read it aloud, so your child can play alone.

Every set is saved to Progress. You'll see the words your child spelled, the ones they keep missing, and how that shifts week to week. Since the words are grouped by pattern, a run of misses usually tells you which pattern to work on.

A profile for every child

Add as many children as you need. Each one keeps their own words and their own progress and picks up where they left off. Works for a family with three kids and a classroom with thirty.

Every theme has its own score from our in-house music studio, with sound effects to match. You know how most kids' apps get muted by day three? We wrote this one so you wouldn't have to.

Nothing about your child leaves this app

No accounts, no sign in, no ads, no trackers, no third party code of any kind. There's no server to send anything to. Your child's progress is saved on your device and stays there.
