User Reviews

Touchdown Manager is fun and engaging with deep strategy and a strong social aspect, enjoyed by long-time players. However, significant monetization and a fragile late-game economy can deter many, and AI bugs and infrequent updates undermine consistency. Some device/display issues also hamper playability. Overall, core gameplay is addictive and rewarding for fans who can tolerate the monetization and stability trade-offs.
Pros
  • Fun, easy to pick up and play.
  • Deep strategy and progression (buildings, plays, strategy center) offering immersion.
  • Strong social/competitive appeal and long-term enjoyment (meeting other players, guilds).
  • Addictive gameplay with time passing quickly.
Cons
  • Pay-to-win / monetization makes it expensive to stay competitive.
  • Late-game economy issues: dwindling auction house and pressure to buy to stay competitive; players quitting.
  • AI and bugs affecting gameplay: poor AI, glitches, occasional broken plays (e.g., backwards passes).
  • Infrequent updates / perceived neglect by developers; only a couple of updates per year, with concerns about abandonment.
  • Device/display issues: screen fit on certain devices (e.g., iPhone XR) and screen cutoffs.

I'm a veteran to the game of over 5 years. Bottom line - the game is HEAVILY geared to make you spend money. If you want to build a town to max, it will literally take you years and years to accomplish. You have to spend money to make reasonable progress. Here's the kick in the balls of it all. Let's say you spend your hard earned money, which you have to to compete in guilds, etc. If you know the settings well, you can easily beat teams 5 or even 10 levels higher. It's just a scam to get you excited about the game. Truth is, if you go through all the hard work to reach the top 2 levels, the AI changes. Suddenly, teams that were higher level and you beat on a regular basis. Now they beat you. It literally happens the moment you're at the same level. It's all just to get you to buy players, hoping it will resolve the issue. The AI is garbage to begin with. Currently, the QB does some ridiculous 40-50 yard backwards pass, catches the ball himself, and you lose huge chucks of yards. What is that all about? I've seen these glitches many times over the years. You can't run the ball at higher levels. Forget it. You have to pass or you'll surely lose every game. It's a very fun game, don't get me wrong. That's why I played it and you can meet other people. As you get more competitive though, it'll all bite you in the butt. I gave it 3 stars for being fun. Would I do it all over again? No. I wasted time and money to reach the top, literally the top, and the game screws you over backwards and forwards. I'd pass and play a different game.
