User Reviews

User reviews largely criticize Thomson Reuters Authenticator for setup friction (QR code flow missing), unreliable push notifications, and a confusing, hard-to-use interface. Many users cannot create personal Reuters accounts, face repeated logins, and struggle with code management. A small subset claim it works fine, but overall sentiment is negative. Core issues center on setup, notification reliability, and lack of user-friendly controls for personal use and code management.
Pros
  • A minority of reviewers report the app works fine and is usable.
Cons
  • QR code setup flow is broken or missing; many users report there is no QR code to scan or no instructions where to find it.
  • Push/notification MFA approvals are unreliable or stop working, causing delays.
  • The app is very difficult to use and navigate; many users describe it as confusing and prone to getting stuck or failing when things go wrong.
  • Non-corporate/personal users face barriers (e.g., Reuters Connect account creation blocked for Yahoo emails; corporate-only requirements).
  • Code management is poor (old codes persist, hard to delete or rename; manual entry of codes is not always possible).
Recent reviews
Please stop asking each time I open the app if I want reminders. I do not. I just want to be able to log into the software quickly.

This app is impossible to use if one is not a corporation. Opening the app requires scanning a QR code, but there is no instrction to locate such a code. I tried to create an account on Reuters connect, but the site will not let me create an account with my yahoo email address, insisting on a corporate account. I do not want to use my company’s servers for this personal task, which is a violation of our company’s policies punishable by dismissal and would give my boss access to my personal financial information. This app is practically unusable by regular people. Unfortunately, no way to rate 0 stars.
