User Reviews

User feedback mainly notes that the iPad app is largely a companion viewing/commenting tool rather than a full design app. Key recurring issues include unreliable Figma Mirror syncing (often freezing), and login/verification hurdles (Google-only option and email verification problems). Performance is another common gripe, with lag, long load times, and occasional black screens on some devices. Navigation and onboarding are considered unclear, with features like editing largely unavailable and some pages or actions inaccessible. A few reviews mention FigJam improvements and that the iPad form factor is a good fit when the app works.
Pros
  • View and comment on designs on iPad, serving as a useful companion to the desktop Figma workflow.
  • FigJam improvements, including multiple accounts support and added features.
  • The iPad form factor is well-suited for Figma/FigJam usage when the app is functional.
  • Overall, the app is seen as promising with potential for future improvements.
Cons
  • Cannot edit designs on iPad; limited to viewing, commenting, and mirroring.
  • Unreliable Figma Mirror syncing (frequent freezes) requiring restarts and failing to show the selected frame after idle.
  • Login and verification hurdles (Google-only login option; email verification problems; login pages requiring non-Safari browsers).
  • Performance problems (lag, long load times, and occasional black screens on some devices).
  • Unclear navigation/UX and limited onboarding, with features like editing largely unavailable and some pages/actions inaccessible.

Apparently you need to have either a google or Microsoft account for this to work. I wasn’t able to test it.

Gotta love Figma - we have to use it in our industry. I love the ai to slides feature, I love being able to copy/paste my work from my boards and jams directly to Slides. But I have no access to any of my slides unless I’m connected to the internet. I have the macOS app and still I need a connection to run my slides. I was In the middle of a presentation and an internet outage knocked me out of slides…. Super frustrating Please dev offline for slides
