Natural Atlas offers rich, detailed topo maps and offline capabilities, plus strong planning and tracking features. However, paywalls and ongoing costs, reliability and update gaps, privacy concerns, and some UI quirks limit consistency. It remains a standout outdoor mapping tool when you’re willing to invest, but monetization and maintenance issues temper its long-term reliability.

Recent reviews

Natural Atlas says that it has very detailed maps. So, I look at the area I live in, Las Vegas, and the detail is about the most pathetic I’ve seen on any mapping app. I can’t imagine using a GPS app where the detail is almost nonexistent. Definitely won’t be using and definitely won’t be paying for it.

The description of the app makes no mention of cost. I downloaded it and then found out the price. I decided I decided I didn’t want to pay it, so I immediately deleted it. I hope that I don’t get charged.
