The app includes a dark mode and enables cross-device syncing of favorites via your Concordia Publishing House account.

The app is free to download, with a yearly subscription of $9.99 unlocking all content—over a decade of devotions, daily prayers, and the ability to mark favorites. Subscriptions are separate from the print Portals of Prayer and auto-renew unless turned off in Settings.

Recent reviews

Why do religious apps think they have to have a musical background. It’s annoying. It’s also an accessibility issue for hard of hearing people. In addition, a very slow ponderous read detracts from the message. We have only listened to two, and already considering abandoning the app.

I was excited to discover that this app exists and I fully understand the need for the yearly cost for this work and find it a reasonable amount. I’m hopeful that a “share“ functionality might be added.

While I just love having portals of prayer devotions on my phone, the reader sounds like a sing songy Kermit, the frog. It's terrible and I'm not sure why you are doing this. I love Audible things and would love to be able to listen to Portals as well, but I can't..
