Features & Capabilities

PokéRater is a safety-first tool that strictly complies with Pokémon GO's Terms of Service and never asks you to log into your account. No risk of bans. It automatically rates your Pokémon so you know which ones to keep and power up by simply analyzing a screenshot of the in-game status screen.

How it works is simple: Step 1 — take a screenshot of your Pokémon’s status screen, Step 2 — select it in PokéRater and let it do the rest. It supports multiple languages (English, 日本語, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, 한국어, 繁體中文, Português), shows CP after evolving, power-up forecasts, max power-up stats, and gym rankings. Features include auto-scan mode, sortable history, nickname templates, a custom keyboard, and Pokebattler integration. Pro Trainer adds background scanning and hides ads for a premium experience.

User Reviews

Users like the UI and workflow when it works, but the app is largely nonfunctional today due to neglect: scan failures, crashes, and missing support for new Pokémon/shadow variants. The 40-level cap and stale data further limit usefulness, making it unsuitable for current gameplay.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use UI with a smooth screenshot workflow (easy to screenshot, switch apps, and copy/paste).
  • Provides IV percentage data and moves/attack-set information to help with team planning.
  • Polished layout and intuitive interface when the app works, with a pleasant overall design.
Cons
  • Not updated for years; appears abandoned and fails to keep up with new Pokémon and moves.
  • Screenshot scanning is unreliable; many images aren’t recognized or trigger looping errors.
  • Frequent crashes that render the app unusable.
  • Does not support newer content (shadow Pokémon, latest moves) and higher-level trainer data.
  • Trainer level cap at 40 prevents recognition of higher-level Pokémon.

This was an awesome app until it stopped working for me. This needs to be updated/debugged by the creator. I’ve been dealing with this issue for the past 4 months at least. Every time I try to upload a Pokémon screenshot, it does one of two things: pops up saying it cannot read the photo at all, or it reads it (partly) then asks me to confirm the CP, so I do, but then it just keeps popping back up on loop. It does not accept the CP info(even though correct) & just continues to glitch & pop back up asking for the CP. Please fix it! Thanks
