Dungeon Warfare is a challenging tower-defense game where you become a dungeon lord defending your lair from wandering adventurers. Start on devices as old as iPad 4, iPad mini 2, or iPhone 5s, and purify dungeons across the world to unlock more powerful traps and devious utilities.

Feature-wise, you can choose from 26 unique traps with three upgradeable tiers, from Dart and Spike Traps to Harpoon and Push Traps. You’ll influence battles with portals, rolling boulders, minecart tracks, and lava pools. With 40+ enemy bases and a rune-based difficulty system (tweak 12 runes for a custom challenge), there’s plenty of replayability. An endless mode opens after unlocking the Infinity rune, and more than 30 achievements reward steady progress.

I’ve been playing DW 1&2 for years. It’s a rare game that you can play and win then take a break for a few months and start over again and enjoy it as much as the first time.

Haven't had this much with a tower defense game since the original Plants vs Zombies 2 campaign and Bloons TD: Battles. Simple, innovative, and extremely deep the more you play, but it's never overwhelming to the point of losing enjoyment like other games. Every trap is relevant and has a niche use of which their value fluctuates between level layouts. So far — I think I'm a little over a third of the way through completing this game — this is genuinely the best tower defense game I've played to date (no, I'm not AI for using an em-dash). Worth more than its pricetag, but with what minimal information can be gathered from the store page, I don't think I would have purchased this for much more. This is easily a $10, though. I can see why Dungeon Warfare 2 is more pricey if it's more of this perfection.
