Recent reviews

There’s no such thing as a sports app and newsletter that really gets to the subjects you truly love. I hoped the Athletic would deliver me up to date highlights of the teams I love but the writing is so general. When I joined I chose my favorite teams hoping I’d be able to read about a game recap or real news about my team. That’s not the case. My baseball team pick has the same general articles about the league (that might mention my team) but never a daily “who beat who” recap article. The Pulse newsletter is worse. Everyday it’s filled with WNBA, soccer, more WNBA, golf and usually is boring. For some reason it arrives daily in my junk emails, maybe it should stay there.

No matter how I set my preferences or teams, I cannot get the leagues and sports I want to be my top stories. While I am interested in college football, soccer and F1, I don’t want them at the top of my feed. I have subscribed since before NYT owned The Athletic and it had become my first stop for sports. No longer.
