User Reviews

Users report MO Fishing works only intermittently. The main positives are the permit display feature and a nice-looking UI when functional. However, chronic issues dominate: the app crashes or won’t load, permits fail to display or save, data quality is inconsistent (maps and brush piles are inaccurate), and the workflow requires re-entering conservation IDs each time. Updates and support appear lacking, leaving the app unreliable for accessing permits or map data.
Pros
  • Displays fishing permits/licenses on the device.
  • Visually appealing interface when functioning.
Cons
  • App crashes on startup or soon after launch and often won’t stay open.
  • Permits/data do not load or save reliably; users can’t view permits consistently.
  • Data quality is poor and inconsistent (brush piles and lake data displayed inaccurately; water bodies may fail to load).
  • Requires entering conservation ID each time to view permits, which is inconvenient.
  • Limited updates and support; app hasn’t been reliably maintained for years.

It’s 2026 and this app STILL can’t provide a digital copy of your fishing license. Use AI to build a better app in 5 min. Good grief!

This app is terrible. It pops up dead links that you cannot close during the permit purchase process, preventing you from actually being able to use the app to purchase permits. Useless.

Data is incorrect. Brush piles show up 50 yards from the lake on land. Used to show types of brush. Hardwood, cedar. All show cedar only now. There are brush piles that aren’t mapped. I know this for a fact because I watched MDC sink one in front of my house. That pile used to show on the map and now does not. I am suspicious of the whole thing.
