User Reviews

Overall sentiment is strongly negative. Reviewers condemn the switch from WhatPad to Dual Messenger+, with a mandatory subscription and removal of the long-standing free tier, plus diminished functionality. Many report the app no longer works reliably after updates and core features like WhatsApp calls have been removed. Several accuse the developer of abandoning the old app and not honoring purchases. The transition is seen as bait-and-switch, with iPad usability issues (not standalone, phone-dependent, not full-screen). A few note it previously worked for years and was reliable.
Pros
  • Historically allowed WhatsApp on iPad independently of iPhone.
  • Promised dual/multi-chat capability (Dual Messenger functionality).
  • Was a reliable iPad WhatsApp client for years before changes.
Cons
  • Forced subscription after rebranding; removal of the free version.
  • App becomes buggy or unusable after updates; slow or glitchy.
  • Core WhatsApp features removed or reduced (e.g., WhatsApp calls removed; overall service reduced).
  • Transition from WhatPad to Dual Messenger+ with loss of prior purchases and data; cannot restore purchases.
  • iPad usability limitations (not standalone; depends on phone to load; not full-screen).
