Features & Capabilities

phyphox gives your phone access to its sensors directly or through ready-to-play experiments, turning it into a portable physics lab. Use sensors like the accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, pressure, microphone, proximity, and GPS to collect data, analyze it, and export results for further study.

Select a pre-defined experiment and press play, or create custom experiments via phyphox.org/editor and share them with colleagues, students, or friends. You can remotely control experiments over the network through a web interface from any PC with a modern browser, without installing extra software. Developed at the 2nd Institute of Physics A at RWTH Aachen University.

User Reviews

My wife was hearing an annoying high pitched noise and couldn’t figure out what caused it. After a few minutes of unplugging things, I remembered this app existed. Within seconds I had the Audio Spectrum tool open and isolated the frequency. I spent a few minutes playing hot / cold and found the culprit, thanks to this amazing free app. 100% worth sticking on your phone just in case.
