User Reviews

Dictator: Emergence shows a strong, original concept with solid strategy depth and engaging, thought-provoking gameplay, plus good visuals. Players repeatedly praise the game's concept, its challenging decisions, and its replayable nature. However, the experience is hampered by persistent bugs and glitches that can crash or reset progress, a fragile in-game economy (money is scarce and per-turn costs are high), and intrusive elements like a repeating tutorial advisor. Ads and monetization also bother many players, and some mechanics feel illogical or inconsistent in how factions react. Overall, potential remains high if stability improves.
Pros
  • Strong concept and strategic depth: balancing factions in a dictator simulation is engaging.
  • Engaging, thought-provoking and challenging gameplay.
  • Good graphics and animation that enhance the experience.
  • High replayability/addictive gameplay, keeping you invested.
Cons
  • Pervasive bugs and glitches causing crashes, freezes, and progress loss.
  • Money balance issues: scarce funds, slow income, and high per-turn costs.
  • Repeating tutorial/advisor prompts disrupt gameplay.
  • Ads and monetization: intrusive ads and monetization frustrations.
  • Illogical/frequently inconsistent faction reactions and decision outcomes.

Too many bugs. Not able to continue playing after a “cataclysm”.

The game is strategic and slightly challenging, while still being interesting. It has basic mechanics and a couple extras without being too overwhelming. 😃*There are not very many ads!* 😃 There are only ads after you have finished the whole round, and they tend to be short. The tiny ad bar at the bottom is not disruptive, and it only costs .99 to remove ads. However, if you aren’t bothered by an ad here and there, then it won’t be very much of a problem. It does have multiple glitches, which I’d like to point out- 1, The Tutorial guy. Whenever you go to answer a question, he pops up, saying “now resolve the problem with the appropriate faction…” even after the tutorial is over. It can get annoying after a while. 2. Making money. In the game, the money generator is hilariously slow at earning money, to the point where it doesn’t really do much at all. Money is a scare resource in the game, so that doesn’t really help. 3. When you make decisions, the police tend to be very finicky, even about things that do not affect them at all. (Example: I decide to allow clapping at concerts to remain legal. The police lose 3 points. Why?) But despite these little things, I do enjoy this game. Recommend! ***Note: there is a second version of the game now. Go check that out. They probably fixed the bugs I mentioned and added and more. Thanks for reading!***
