MyVoice - Tap or Type to Talk

MyVoice is an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) app for people whose speech doesn't come easily. Tap a symbol to speak it, drag words together to build a sentence, or switch to the keyboard and type. One screen, no menus to hunt through.

Switch Scanning For anyone who can't reliably touch a specific spot on screen.

A highlight moves across the board. One action selects it: a tap anywhere on the screen, or a press of a connected switch. Scanning works in two levels, group then item, so items are reached quickly. The board follows the highlight, so what's selected is always in view. Caregivers set the scan speed and how many times it loops in Settings. One tap exits.

Core Vocabulary

A board of about 80 of the words people use most: I, you, want, go, stop, more, help, not, like, what. They stay in the same positions every time, so they become second nature. Gently color-coded by word type. Tap words to build a sentence, then speak it with one tap. It's the way speech-language pathologists teach language.

Smart Suggestions

As you build a sentence, MyVoice offers full, natural phrases above the board. Tap one to say it instantly. Two kinds: Your tapped words, turned into a complete sentence. "Want water" becomes "I want water." Phrases you've said before, brought back when they fit what you're building. The more you use a phrase, the faster it returns. Suggestions never speak on their own. The app only says what you tap. Turn them on or off anytime with a single switch in Settings.

Type to Talk

Type anything and hear it spoken. As you type, suggested words and completions appear above the keyboard, drawn from your own past phrases and on-device prediction. Big, easy targets. Tap one to drop it in. Far fewer keystrokes.

Speak

Personal Voice: speak in a recording of your own voice, created and stored privately on your device. Built-in system voices with adjustable speed, pitch, and volume. Speaks aloud even when the phone is on silent.

Symbols and personalization

More than a dozen ready-made boards: Quick Talk, Emotions, Actions, Food & Drink, Family, Body, Animals, School, Places, and more. Color-coded and full of clear symbols. Save any phrase as a tile with a suggested emoji, an emoji you pick, or a real photo from your library or camera. Create, rename, recolor, and reorder your own categories. Add, edit, reorder, and delete tiles. Recents keeps recently spoken phrases one tap away.

Fit the board to the person

Button Size: small, medium, or large. Show or Hide Labels: symbol-only tiles for pre-readers, with more room for the picture.

For families and classrooms

Edit Lock: require a passcode to open Edit and Settings, so a child or student can't rearrange the board or change the voice by accident. Speaking always stays available. Forgot the code? Reset it with a deliberate 5-second hold. Your boards, tiles, and settings stay exactly as they are.

Look & Read Point the camera and tap the shutter. MyVoice recognizes objects and reads printed text like menus, signs, and labels, then surfaces them as tappable cards to hear aloud.

Private by design Voices, phrases, photos, and predictions stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there's nothing to sign into.
