Features & Capabilities

DuckTheLine is a Chrome extension that shows live waiting lines around you and lets you join for a playful wait. Start the app to see lines in your vicinity, join a line, and experience a countdown until your turn.

To suggest nearby lines, the app requests your GPS location. Note that continuous background GPS use can significantly reduce battery life; use wisely.

User Reviews

DuckTheLine helps users skip or shorten lines at Notre Dame towers through timed entries, QR check-ins, and time alerts, offering a smoother visit during busy periods. It works well at Notre Dame and can improve crowd flow on several sites. However, reliability varies by venue, with some locations not honoring QR codes. Users report inconsistent alerts, onboarding/attraction management challenges, and limited usefulness outside certain locations, along with occasional device-related hiccups. Overall, strong for Paris sites, weaker or unreliable at others.
Pros
  • Significantly reduces wait times by providing timed entries to Notre Dame towers.
  • Reliable QR code check-in and timing alerts help you arrive on schedule.
  • Easy to use, even during peak tourist season, with available time slots.
  • Improves crowd management at attractions compared to typical queues.
  • Shows promise across multiple sites beyond Notre Dame, with positive experiences reported.
Cons
  • Not all locations accept QR codes or support skipping lines, leading to wasted time at venues like Versailles.
  • Alerts/notifications can be inconsistent or missing, reducing reliability.
  • Onboarding and managing multiple attractions is confusing; difficult to add new sites or cancel times.
  • Geographic limitations: strong utility in Paris but limited usefulness or support in other regions (e.g., US).

Is there a list of other locations that use this App? We had a great experience with it at Notre Dame. So glad we just recently went.

I used the app as soon as we arrived at the cathedral on a busy Saturday. By the time we finished touring the inside of the church we were able to go right up into the bell tower.
