User Reviews

Ambre shines with polished visuals, a clean UI, and strong cross‑device sync (iPhone/iPad/Mac and Apple Watch) plus a community recipe portal. It’s praised for a focused, intuitive workflow. But reviewers repeatedly cite reliability issues: importing recipes from Pinterest, Paprika, or other sources often fails or imports partial data; sharing/export can be broken; offline access is missing; and the lack of traditional categories (only tags) plus no built‑in grocery list hurts organization. Many also want a lifetime purchase option or a non-subscription plan.
Pros
  • Beautiful visuals and a clean, minimalist UI with adaptive recipe card backgrounds.
  • Strong cross-device sync via iCloud across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
  • Flexible, focused workflow and intuitive organization.
  • Community recipe portal for browsing and inspiration.
  • Apple Watch app support adds convenience for on-the-go cooking.
Cons
  • Importing recipes from Pinterest, Paprika, and other sources is buggy or unreliable, often missing data.
  • Subscription-based pricing with demand for a lifetime purchase option.
  • Offline access is missing; the app isn’t usable offline.
  • Lack of traditional categories (only tags) and no built-in grocery list.
  • Sharing/export features can be broken or not work as expected.

This app Worked beautifully for some time. Now I cannot capture the recipes. It is now saying “IMPORT FAILED”. With no support it renders this app useless.

works great sometimes, but voice to recipie often records but then dodesnt do anything. sometimes cannot edit recipie. needs option for folders and tags. meal planner should not require a title for each meal plan but should allow breakfast, lunch, dinner segments. would be PERFECR if could connect to myfitnesspal

I just downloaded this but will be canceling before my 3 day trial ends. - There are no categories, only tags. Every cookbook ever has categories. Example: main dish, side, dessert, etc - Importing from Pinterest is sloppy. It pulled in some of the ingredients but not all. The ones it did pull in, they didn’t have quantities/amounts. It also added ingredients that weren’t even in the recipe. - Both recipes I added, one from Pinterest and one picture of a recipe card; neither filled in the servings or total cook time. Does not have separate prep/ total time. - There is a description box to put tags in but no notes. Need a place to put your own adjustments or substitutions separate from the directions.
