Features & Capabilities

oscRFR is the total remote interface for Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) EOS Family of Consoles.

**** oscRFR is currently formatted for Tablets. We've made it available for the larger phone formats - but please do not purchase it if you are only looking for a remote on a smaller phone. ***

Designed from the ground up to be the ultimate EOS Focus Remote, oscRFR allows the user instant access to virtually every key on the console - It's your EOS in your Hand! In addition to regular console buttons there are Encoders, Direct Selects, and page-able Fader Page- making oscRFR the perfect companion to a Nomad setup. Save multiple layouts of buttons, faders, and console configurations - you can even save multiple Master Layouts allowing you to configure the App in different ways for different venues. Full feedback from the console insures you know what attributes you are modifying and what cue you are in.

User Reviews

Users praise oscRFR for ease of use, strong EOS compatibility, real-time command line, and a rich feature set, including full facepanel access and multi-cue lists. They also note solid support and good legacy-device compatibility. Common drawbacks are UI scaling issues on iPhone models, missing labeling and customization features, slower iOS feature parity with Android, occasional stability glitches, and a desire for screen mirroring and greater UI customization.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and easy to use, with excellent, responsive developer support.
  • Strong compatibility with ETC EOS consoles and works well with the offline editor.
  • Real-time command line and solid remote/console-side operation.
  • Rich feature set: full facepanel access, multiple cue lists, and easy preset updates.
  • Works well on older iPads and offers good value for the price.
Cons
  • UI/layout does not scale well on newer iPhone sizes; encoders and right-hand controls can be cut off.
  • Lack of labeling and missing UI controls (ML controls) as requested features.
  • iOS feature parity lags behind Android, with slower updates and new features on iOS.
  • Occasional stability issues: minor freezes/crashes, not yet fully show-ready.
  • Limited customization options: cannot move/resize buttons or cue lists; no screen mirroring.

Everything I could ask for except I wish there was an update for a tab to see cuelists

Description does state it’s made for tablets and available for bigger phones, but not at all convenient to use on a phone format. Especially when 1/2” of the encoder screen is cut off and buttons can easily be mispressed.

I love this app but I just learned that the android version of the app is at version 1.9 and has new features like encoder labels and iOS version is still on version 1.3. Why is that??
