If gold loses its primary utility, the in-game rewards and internal economy become completely devalued. Eliminating functional mechanics overnight to implement a system that solely benefits the company's direct monetization efforts is a sign of disrespect toward the user base. This measure is perceived as an arrogant stance and a direct mistreatment of the entire community, particularly its most loyal players.
