User Reviews

Users broadly praise the app for strong sound processing and a feature-rich 7-band EQ with bass control, plus a stable upgrade over crash-prone apps. However, recurring issues include DRM limits that block EQ on Apple Music tracks, a costly paywall to use the EQ, intrusive ads, and a sense that it isn’t a true, usable EQ for many platforms. Compatibility and library access problems further diminish usefulness for some users.
Pros
  • Strong sound processing with noticeable audio quality improvements and benefits for users who have difficulty hearing certain frequencies.
  • 7-band equalizer with additional features like playlists, shuffle, and repeat for flexible playback.
  • Bass control to manage low-end and prevent overwhelming bass.
  • Perceived upgrade over crash-prone or less reliable apps, offering a more stable listening experience.
Cons
  • DRM/protected tracks (e.g., Apple Music) prevent applying the EQ to most songs, limiting usefulness.
  • Requires purchasing songs or subscribing to use the EQ, with many users perceiving the price as high or predatory.
  • Intrusive ads (including porn ads on first launch) that are difficult to close.
  • Not a true standalone EQ for many users: limited functionality due to platform restrictions and some reports of it behaving like a playlist rather than a real EQ.
  • Inconsistent compatibility with major platforms and library access; some users cannot access their library or use the EQ without subscriptions.

Functional and rewarding; but stupid Ads are VERY DIFFICULT to close before getting down to listening and using Equalizer to optimize the SOUND.

Had to replace my Boom app that continuously crashed and Equalizer FX definitely is an upgrade as far as sound processing. I’m hard of hearing so the apps EQ band definitely tweaks the frequencies I can’t hear clearly. Great app!!!
