Features & Capabilities

NavsTMS is a Bible verse memorization tool built around The Navigators' TMS program. It lets users see, say, and record verses, and play memory games to help commit them to memory. It tracks memory and review status for multiple participants and supports cross-device sharing via iCloud. The app offers topics organized by series such as Live the New Life, Proclaim Christ, Rely on God's Resources, Be Christ's Disciple, and Grow in Christlikeness, plus a Spanish version NavsTMSesp.

Key features include audio recitation, translations in NASB, KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV, and NIV84; memory games like Show/Hide, Phrases, Word Take-Away, Initials, and Reference ID; drag-and-drop for topics and references on iPad; and the full text of the TMS Course Workbook. A new “Transformed Into His Image” screen shows memorized verses and invites practical growth in Christlikeness, with a “But Soon!” prompt for a full image.

User Reviews

I first memorized TMS 33 years ago, but wanted to review - and relearn all the verses from an older version of NIV. The description indicates if supports NIV84 which I believe is the version I originally learned. However the app I purchased does not have NIV84 as an option during setup. Consequently this app is useless to me as the current NIV is so foreign to the version I use.

The memory “hook”, ex. “Christ the Center” should be in the left hand column not in the center. Then the scripture. The paper copies have it correct. This would be better in anki software to make it easier to memorize. Retention is easier with Anki.

My parents learned the TMS verses in the 1970s, and they were among the verses they taught us when we were growing up. It’s great to find this system in digital form. Thanks for presenting it! While an older design is fine with me, I’d really like to see this presented in more accessible colors. The light blue on light background is hard to read. I’m looking forward to brushing up on section 1 and moving ahead to the later sections I didn’t learn as well when I was young. Having multiple versions is a cool feature. I’ll update if I come across other concerns. Thanks again!
