User Reviews

Overall, users praise Kanji Quizzer for being effective, versatile, and easy to use, with a clean interface and a one-time purchase. They value its ability to drill Kanji and Kana across multiple modes and for JLPT prep. Common requests focus on reset capabilities, tracking weak kanji or exporting missed items, readability improvements, kana consistency, and cross-device license issues. Feature requests also include dark mode and silent audio options.
Pros
  • Versatile testing options across Kanji/Kana/Hiragana with randomization across study sets.
  • Clean, uncluttered interface with no bloat and a buy-once model.
  • Effective learning tool for Kanji and Kana with translations and quick reviews; helpful for JLPT prep.
  • Broad usability for learners of all ages (including kids) and on-the-go study.
Cons
  • No straightforward way to reset all progress or scores (need to reinstall or lack reset feature).
  • No clear view/export of missed or weak kanji; difficulty focusing on weak areas.
  • Readability issues and crowding after recent design changes (font size too small).
  • Inconsistencies in kana presentation (mixing hiragana/katakana) on flash cards.
  • Purchases may not be recognized across devices, requiring manual restoration.

Hi, can you please add an option the see all of the kanji you missed (right after finishing a set). For example it only lets me to try again on the kanji I missed but it doesn’t give me a list of all of them, I want to screen shot or export them to try and focus on those kanji more. Just want to focus on the ones I I’m having difficulty There is no point in studying kanji I always know

It’s a great app for learning and memorizing Kanji, but my only complaint is that when the sound plays after an answer, it pauses any background videos you have playing and doesn’t unpause them after. For example, if you are watching a YouTube video while doing the quizzes, every time you complete a question, the sound plays and pauses the video and doesn’t unpause it after. This happens even if you set all the apps sounds volume to 0. My one request is to make it so that the sounds do not pause any other videos currently playing.

Best app I’ve found to review Kanji. I like the variety of what you can test for (English, hiragana, kanji). And it has no bloatwear. Scoring is a nice touch too.
