User Reviews

Hero Emblems II is praised for its strong core match-3 RPG gameplay, appealing visuals, and a well-received sequel that builds on the first game. The standout positives are the one-time purchase, offline play, and depth of gameplay. Common drawbacks include boss balance and difficulty spikes, a cluttered or unclear UI without a quest journal, and technical issues like crashes. Translation/writing quality and lack of endless mode/post-game replay are also noted. Overall, highly enjoyable but with notable balance and quality caveats.
Pros
  • Engaging match-3 gameplay with RPG elements that many reviewers consider among the best in mobile puzzle-RPGs.
  • One-time purchase with offline play and no ads or microtransactions, offering good long-term value.
  • High-quality visuals, art, and animations that enhance the puzzle-RPG experience.
  • Faithful and improved sequel with more character customization and a larger roster, appreciated by fans of the first game.
  • Overall positive reception of the core gameplay and depth, especially for players who enjoyed the original Hero Emblems.
Cons
  • Boss/enemy balance and noticeable difficulty spikes, with some final encounters described as overly hard.
  • Confusing UI and onboarding, plus a lack of a quest journal or clear guidance for progression.

Could enemy levels be added? There are some huge difficulty spikes. The ability to see enemy levels would help to give us an idea if we should be in that dungeon or grinding another area. Thank you.

Everything basically perfect. Looks great, feels great, works great. It’s just that almost every boss is wildly outbalanced for your progress. There is a difference between a challenging battle and chipping away at a brick wall for THIRTY MINUTES. Truly terrible balancing. Also, no journal or basic list of quests which leads to even more wasted time moving around hitting a battle every other dot just to learn your quest is nowhere near where you just slogged to. You are so close to perfection! Iron out that bts math and implement the world’s most basic quest journal and you’re there.
