Augmented Reality Drawing Tool

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Tracing Projector is a portable AR drawing and composition tool. It behaves like a drawing sheet you can carry with you—load any image, take a photo, or use bundled images, then trace directly on your screen to study proportions and lines. Apply filters to enhance contrast, lock focus, and use a Light Table mode to keep your tracing steady. Handheld AR helps stabilize the image on supported devices, making it ideal for sketching, education, and creative projects.

Record progress with time-lapse or standard-speed videos, share your creations on social networks, and even combine multiple clips into a single movie. Features like poster tracing, face painting ideas, and quick sketch options expand creative possibilities. Note: disabling Quick Sketch may require a one-time purchase.

User Reviews

Users repeatedly praise the app for free basic usage, easy adjustments, ad-free experience, and decent tracing quality. However, they frequently report stability problems: the reference image moves or won’t stay locked, glitches/resetting canvases, and poor performance in handheld mode. Payment is often cited as gating essential features, along with difficulty cancelling subscriptions. Overall, it's free and capable but unreliable for precise tracing due to stability and UI issues.
Pros
  • Free basic usage from gallery with no payment required for core tracing features
  • Adjustments are easy to use and backed by step-by-step guidance
  • Ad-free experience students note no ads while using the app
  • Tracing quality can closely resemble the reference image in some reviews
Cons
  • Reference image/projector often moves or won’t stay locked during tracing
  • Frequent glitches and instability (locks releasing, canvas resets)
  • Handheld mode is hard to use and prone to glitches
  • Paywall: core features require payment (e.g., stopping input, unlocks)
  • Canvas/reference image resets or repositions during use (e.g., after quick sketch)

at first i thought this was going to be completely free and easy until i realized ITS NOT. your on a 2 minute time limit and have to PAY just to get off of it, its glitchy leaves your photos upside down and overall not a good app. DONT DOWNLOAD IT. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I love this app and how simple it is yet offers everything I was looking for and even more… love that only pay once for it not monthly more than worth it, it’s been great tool to give me confidence and helped me get better just having this app to as a guide when needed
