User Reviews

Users praise LumaFusion for its powerful, feature-rich iOS editing and strong export options, plus the appeal of a one-time purchase and mobile editing on a pocket device. However, recurring issues center on stability and performance bugs after 4.0, including playback glitches and scrubbing problems. Pricing concerns are frequent, with many features gated behind subscriptions and some feeling the price is too high. The UI is often described as non-intuitive with a steep learning curve. Overall, performance and pricing are the main sticking points.
Pros
  • Feature-rich and versatile editing tools for video and audio, with transitions and titles.
  • One-time purchase delivers substantial functionality with no ongoing subscription for core features.
  • Strong mobile editing capability—feels like a professional editor in your pocket on iOS.
  • Solid export options and ability to preserve quality across formats, including YouTube-ready exports.
Cons
  • Recurring performance issues and bugs in recent versions (playback jumps, scrubbing failures, disappearing/doubling play controls).
  • Pricing model relies on subscriptions for additional features, with frequent upsell and perceived costs.
  • Steep learning curve and non-intuitive UI, making it hard to pick up quickly.
  • General price concerns, with some users feeling the app is too expensive or over-priced given feature gating.

I’ve edited tons of videos on different platforms, and honestly LumaFusion surprised me the most. The timeline is smooth, effects are easy to use, and it handles professional editing without feeling overwhelming. What I love most is how fast and creative the workflow feels — especially for cinematic edits, reels, and YouTube content. The app runs incredibly well even on mobile devices and gives me freedom to edit anywhere. For creators who want pro-level editing without the complexity of Premiere Pro, this is honestly one of the best editing apps out there. Highly recommended.

All I wanted was to edit a video with photos. It wasn’t intuitive at all. I was able to add a few seconds of black at the beginning. Next I wanted a purple screen with a title in white letters and never got beyond that. I just could not do it. This app is obviously designed for more complex editing objectives.

The lack of automatic caption support is quite disappointing. Most mobile editing apps nowadays support either SRT file import or automatic caption generation, but LumaFusion does not offer this feature, which makes subtitle workflow unnecessarily time-consuming. Is the app still actively supported with feature updates? It feels like subtitle-related features like the automatic caption generation have not been prioritized for a long time.
