Features & Capabilities

HitCheck provides fast, on-location cognitive assessments to monitor athletes’ brain health. It is HIPAA compliant and FDA-registered as a Class II medical device, enabling coaches, administrators, athletic trainers, and physicians to perform unlimited baseline, post-injury, and recovery testing with nine game-like neurocognitive measures such as Immediate Recall, Balance, Reaction Time, Coordination, Pattern Recognition, Problem Solving, Color Recognition, Impulse Control and Delayed Recall, plus optional symptom evaluations. The tool supports athletes ages 6 and up and offers roster dashboard tools and 24/7 access to all records.

Built on established cognitive testing methods, HitCheck compares current results with prior performance to inform decision-making. Results are accessible on iPhone, iPad, or desktop, and are not intended to diagnose concussions or replace medical examinations. For privacy and usage terms, users should consult the Privacy Policy and EULA.

User Reviews

Users frequently praise HitCheck for easy, quick baseline creation, on-field concussion assessment, and broad adoption by youth teams, coaches, and parents. Critics repeatedly report technical issues (blank screens, crashes, login/activation problems) and question reliability and safety (results can be gamed, not clinically validated). The dominant tension is ease and safety benefits versus inconsistent performance and reliability concerns.
Pros
  • Very easy to use for kids of all ages; quick baseline creation.
  • Provides a quick, on-field concussion assessment to guide real-time safety decisions.
  • Widely adopted by youth sports programs and coaches; scalable to many teams.
  • Supports safety and monitoring across practices and games.
Cons
  • Frequent blank screens and crashes; tests often fail to load.
  • Login/activation problems; accounts not activating or users unable to log in.
  • Reliability concerns; results can be gamed and may not reflect true concussion status; not clinically validated.

The practice test is a blank screen. The registration requires too much personal info. And the account activation link was never sent.
