Make it backward compatible, not everybody can afford a new phone every year. Some of us use older phones and so your app needs to be backward-compatible in order to serve the public better.

I’m told I have to update the app to use it but it won’t unless I have “iOS 17 or later” but my phone says I’m up to date with 16-something and won’t give me 17. Poor development timing!!
