I’ve been an Oura customer long enough to know this isn’t just one bad reading, the product has become increasingly difficult to trust. There have been multiple times when I’ve felt completely calm and relaxed, yet Oura has told me I was under significant stress. The most ridiculous example was during a massage, when Oura somehow logged nearly three hours of stress. If the ring can’t accurately distinguish between actual physiological stress and someone lying on a massage table relaxing, then I have to question how useful that data really is. The guidance is also constantly contradictory. Oura tells me my HRV is low, my recovery is poor, and I should take it easy, then in the same breath gives me a 10,000+ step target. If I push myself, my recovery suffers. If I rest, I miss my activity goal. Either way, my scores take a hit. At some point, the product stops feeling insightful and starts feeling like a system designed to tell you that you’re doing something wrong no matter what you do. The battery life is another disappointment, especially for a device at this price point. And I paid extra for the gold finish, which has aged so poorly that it now looks cheap, worn, and frankly embarrassing. Charging a premium for a finish that deteriorates like this is unacceptable. There are far more smart-ring options available now than when I originally bought Oura. Based on my experience, I would not spend my money on another one unless Oura can show that the quality, durability, battery performance, and accuracy have actually improved. For a product that positions itself as premium, my ring no longer looks or performs like one. I’d expect Oura to stand behind the product and offer a replacement or another meaningful resolution, because at this point I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable paying full price for another ring.

I’ve had every single version of the Oura ring since it first came out. and I’ve always been a big supporter of know thyself and individual access to one’s own data however, over the last four years, I’ve had to have a warranty replacement every six months, and I just got the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the ring just stopped connecting. I was able to set it up one time, stopped connecting, had to do a factory reset on the ring. lost my data for the day, woke up this morning and again can’t connect, so they’re sending a replacement ring. This is just frustrating and tiresome - I’m wondering if they did a full QC of the ring, the app, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max
