User Reviews

The World Warfare reviews describe a fun, deep strategy game with engaging battles, strong unit variety, and meaningful social coordination. However, the game is repeatedly criticized for pay-to-win balance that rewards spending and hurts casual players, and for lacking PvE or campaign modes to provide a slower, more accessible path. Users also report account and billing problems, unresponsive support, and frequent technical issues like network errors and loading failures. Additionally, the game is seen as a time sink requiring constant online presence, making it difficult for casual players to engage over the long term.
Pros
  • Fun, addictive strategy with deep mechanics and lots of upgrades, plus unit variety.
  • Engaging battles that require coordination with others; meaningful social/coordination aspect.
  • Persistent progression and strategic depth that keeps players invested.
Cons
  • Pay-to-win imbalance that favors paying players, leading to frustration for casual players.
  • Lack of PvE/campaign/sandbox modes; requests for campaign-style or PvE play to avoid constant PvP.
  • Account/billing issues and unresponsive customer support, including charges with no refunds and accounts being locked or reset.
  • Technical issues: frequent network errors, loading problems, and performance inconsistencies between devices.
  • Time sink and requirement to stay online constantly; heavy demand on time and constant play, reducing accessibility for casual players.

I absolutely love this game. However, a diverse military is a death trap. Artillery and bomber spam the the only way to play. This is still a glaring issue today. My tactics absolutely have to be artillery spam early to mid game and then bomber spam mid to late game if I’m going to have any chance to remain competitive against other players. I think having all units with AA capabilities need to have aoe to help prevent bomber only spams. I’m not sure how to prevent artillery spamming though. There is a comment from 8ys ago that addresses this and it is still relevant today.
