User Reviews

Reviews for COM-DEX on iPhone show reliability issues. When it connects, the app can function as a remote control and enable streaming through COM-DEX, but persistent problems include unstable Bluetooth connectivity, frequent disconnects, device recognition failures, and repeated resets. The app seems outdated with few updates and limited support, with compatibility issues on newer iOS versions and iPads. Overall, users see benefits when it works, but reliability and support problems hamper the experience.
Pros
  • When connected, the app functions as a remote control for COM-DEX (volume control and battery status).
  • The app enables streaming audio and phone calls from the iPhone to the hearing aids via COM-DEX.
  • The iPhone integration allows Widex hearing aids to pair with the phone for streaming and conversations when the app works.
Cons
  • Unstable Bluetooth connection between the app and COM-DEX, with frequent dropouts and disconnects.
  • The app often fails to detect the device, requiring reinstalls, re-pairing, or multiple resets.
  • App is buggy and prone to freezes or crashes, with inconsistent performance across devices.
  • Lack of timely updates and compatibility issues with newer iOS versions and iPad; the app hasn’t been updated in years.
  • Limited/app support is hard to reach; no clear way to contact support, leaving users without help.

This app used to be decent. Now it won’t connect at all and has been this way for awhile. Don’t waste your time with it.

We (my hearing aid professional) have tried everything, including a new loop from WIDEX to enable the loop to connect to the app, to no avail. The loop connects to the iPhone Bluetooth without a problem and I can stream music and calls, just not connect to the app on the phone. Even with technical help at WIDEX working with my specialist has not fixed the problem. Before my old loop battery wouldn’t take a charge, I was able to connect to the loop-app. and adjust volume, etc. But for some reason I cannot connect to the loop to the app. any longer!! 12/1/2022. I really miss the app. controls!!

Sometimes I have problems getting it to connect on the app to be able to use the app controls but even if it doesn’t show to be able to use the controls it will still work to answer & talk on iPhone
