User Reviews

The app is valued for its detailed trail data, offline navigation, and easy planning features, and it helps users find less crowded hikes. However, it is hampered by recurrent reliability issues: maps fail to load, data updates loop or stall, and the catalog omits many parks. Account creation problems further block access. When functioning, it’s helpful for planning and navigation, but its usefulness is limited by instability and incomplete data coverage.
Pros
  • Detailed trail data (distance, elevation, difficulty) and planning resources.
  • Offline navigation support and usable offline functionality in many scenarios.
  • Nice layout and easy-to-use interface with clear information.
  • Helps discover less crowded or lesser-known trails and facilitates trip planning with photos.
Cons
  • Maps/basemaps fail to load or refresh, causing the app to be unusable.
  • Data store updates hang or loop, leading to persistent loading/update messages and instability.
  • Incomplete park coverage with many national parks missing from the catalog.
  • Account creation/login barriers preventing use (cannot get past email/registration).

Basemaps are not loading and we’re just getting to the spring hiking season! Unusable until this is fixed. Ahh, just clicked on support link - takes you to a website for a totally different app. Looks like they’re not actually seriously updating this app anymore.
