User Reviews

Users value the app's concept for sharing health data with VA providers and note onboarding and device-compatibility improvements, but recurrent data-sync failures with Apple Health and Apple Watch, plus login hurdles and intermittent data visibility, undermine reliability. Support responsiveness is inconsistent and data may not be accessible on mobile, prompting reliance on other methods.
Pros
  • Innovative concept: a great way to share health data with VA providers.
  • Easier account creation and usability improvements (Face ID, staying signed in).
  • Works with multiple devices (Bluetooth devices, Fitbit, Garmin).
Cons
  • Apple Health data not syncing to SMHD (data from Apple Health not transferring).
  • Apple Watch compatibility missing/not listing; devices not syncing.
  • Login issues and friction (Login.gov problems and repeated login prompts).
  • Data reliability problems: data disappears or shows 'no data today' on mobile.
  • Support responsiveness and issue resolution inconsistent; ongoing outages.

I think some of the raters do not know how to use the system. One star means pathetic app. Five star means great app. But when you read the reviews you see that some of the people had it backwards. This app does not work properly. I’ve been tracking my blood pressure with the Apple health app for the past several months. None of that data has transferred from Apple health to this app. Even though I have connected and reconnected several times. As for my Apple Watch, I don’t even see it as a choice for connecting as a device. It would be a useful app if it worked as advertised.

This app operates under the old assumption that the only way to improve health is to; increase steps and distance and or reduce calories. Tons of new and not so new data suggest that strength training and weight lifting offer health benefits that far out weigh (no pun intended) those that are achieved by Long Slow Distance training such as walking, jogging and etc. The concept of caloric reduction is also equally out of date. The need for a reduction of caloric intake indicates that a subjects activity levels have decreased to a point that their current eating habits are providing an excess of energy which is not being used but is being stored as body fat that in turn is creating unhealthy conditions within the body. Someone who is training for strength, needs to increase their caloric intake, which in turn provides energy for the lifts, builds muscle and strength and increases recovery economics. As strength increases, so also body fat decreases. So, to conclude; this app should allow entries and data collection for ‘weight lifted’, ‘time spent lifting’ and anything else related to measuring the benefits of this type of activity.
