Most reviews say the Theta app is easy to use and supports mobile editing/sharing of high‑quality real estate photos/videos on iPhone/iPad. However, reliability issues dominate: frequent disconnects, crashes, slow performance, and weak media management. Some updates break support for older cameras, overshadowing the app’s potential.

Recent reviews

Voicing my wish that this app continues to remain available and receive updates from Ricoh. Although the user is presented with “end of life” notifications, this app continues to work well with my Theta V camera and is fully-featured with wifi and bluetooth image capture and sync on ios26. After looking at the tragic state of their newer Ricoh360 app, and its lack of support for older models as well as lack of features, this app remains the preferred tool.

This Ricoh Theta app was discontinued in 2025. It is better than the new Ricoh 360 app because it does not require an account or agreement of their privacy policy and terms of service, just so you can use your camera.
