User Reviews

Overall, users praise Bodyweight Fitness for being easy to use, visually appealing, and tightly aligned with the Reddit r/bodyweightfitness routine. It offers progressions, videos, and workout tracking, and many report real results and steady motivation. The main drawbacks are that the app hasn’t kept up with the latest RR (missing newer progressions like shrimp squats and tucked hanging leg raises) and timer reliability issues (delays at start and background pauses). Some want more QoL features, such as a Finish Workout button or broader routine tracking, and occasional data export and iOS compatibility concerns. Still, it’s a strong free option.
Pros
  • Easy to use with a clean, visually pleasing UI and intuitive navigation.
  • Guides you through the Reddit r/bodyweightfitness routine with progression videos and built-in workout tracking.
  • Offers deep progression options and warm-up/mobilization content suitable for beginners through advanced users.
  • Keeps users motivated and shows results, with reusable structure that allows editing and revisiting past workouts.
  • Free to use with no mandatory payments and strong alignment with the Reddit community.
Cons
  • Not updated to reflect the latest recommended routine, missing newer progressions like shrimp squats and tucked hanging leg raises.
  • Timer reliability issues: delays when starting timers and slow/paused timers when the app runs in the background; users want smoother timing and a 45-second rest option.
  • Some feature requests for QoL improvements (e.g., Finish Workout button, broader routine tracking) and easier feature additions.
  • Occasional data export and iOS compatibility concerns.

I am requesting a refund for this app. I am not able to process that in the App Store or through Report a Problem channels. My impression of this app was that I would be able to log custom exercises using a timer. That was not what was delivered. Please refund my purchase as the description and advertising was misleading.

This app is awesome and it walks you through reddit’s r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine. It also has videos of each exercise progress and provides workout tracking. My only requests, that are merely nice-to-haves, are for a 45 second rest option and a ~3 second delay between starting a timer for an exercise and the timer actually starting. It often takes me a few seconds after starting a timer to get into position and start the exercise, so the delay would be nice. Ultimately, fantastic app.
