User Reviews

Ferrite is widely praised for its powerful, iPad-focused podcast editing and easy workflow, with strong recording quality and accessibility features. However, users report reliability issues with external mics and occasional crashes, and note missing advanced post-processing tools and cloud syncing. Free tier limits and feature paywalls are also recurring concerns. Overall, it’s a top mobile editing solution for podcasters who value a smooth, touch-friendly workflow, with caveats about stability and feature depth.
Pros
  • Powerful podcast editing tools (multitrack, precise cuts, noise removal, compression)
  • Easy to use, iPad-optimized interface with intuitive workflow
  • Reliable and stable across OS updates (noted by many users)
  • Accessibility features (VoiceOver) and Apple Pencil/gesture support
  • Strong recording quality and mic compatibility in many setups
Cons
  • Unreliability with external mics/interfaces (sometimes no audio, no real-time waveform)
  • Crashes and clumsy controls reported by some users
  • Missing advanced post-recording features (RMS, de-clicking, de-essing) and reliance on exporting to desktop for full editing
  • Paywall and free-tier limitations (44.1 kHz export, limited features without Pro)
  • Sharing/syncing issues (share button may fail; no iCloud syncing across devices)

Use this app for all my podcasts it’s amazing. I just wish the developer would make it for The Mac

The audio quality of recordings is awful. Very tinny/tunnel sounding. I used the same mic, conditions, script, etc to record in other apps and it sounds fine. It’s only this app that records poorly.
