VRIC on iOS is praised for accurate prayer times, live masjid content, and a clean, organized interface, with strong Ramadan relevance and Apple Watch support. However, users repeatedly report two major issues: disruptive forced updates that block use and drop support on older devices; and recurring problems with prayer-time display or timing bugs on several devices. Additional inconsistencies with push notifications—some alerts are missing or not visible in-app—also come up. Overall, the app is valuable, but stability and update UX need attention.

Pros

Accurate and reliable prayer times (Salat timings).
Live masjid videos and events available in-app.
Well-organized, clear, and easy-to-use interface.
Extremely helpful during Ramadan.

Cons

Forced in-app update prompts that block usability and can render the app unusable until the update is installed, with older devices potentially losing support after updates.
Prayer times display/rendering problems on certain devices or after updates (times not rendering correctly, negative countdown, zoomed UI).
Push/Adhan notifications are unreliable or not visible within the app (missing alerts or only showing up in the system).

Recent reviews

I love this app. I use it close to half a dozen times a days for checking prayer times or viewing masjid videos etc. very well made. One constructive change I would recommend is to allow users to update the app on their own time when a new update is released. The app is rendered unusable when a new update is released because a pop up message saying to update it blocks usability. You won’t be able to use the app until you install the update. Sometimes updating the app is not possible (or possible immediately) and it can get annoying when your not able to use the app. My uncle actually had to change phones completely because his phone no longer supported the updates and the app was not usable with the pop up. TLDR: get rid of the update pop up if possible Thank you for a amazing app
