User Reviews

Users praise xMure as a cool app with strong sounds and a rich style library, noting it’s competitive with full arranger keyboards and appealing to enthusiasts. However, recurring issues across multiple reviews focus on MIDI/controller compatibility, chord recognition and lack of split-zone control, missing AUv3/inter-app integration, rhythm-setting save/recall bugs, and no straightforward MIDI export. These reliability and interoperability gaps overshadow the strengths, suggesting the app shows great potential but needs solid bug fixes and broader compatibility to reach its promise.
Pros
  • Very cool app with great sounds and styles.
  • A large library of styles that are really cool, even compared to a full arranger keyboard.
  • Active development with a supportive team and requests for updates/new styles.
Cons
  • MIDI/controller connectivity issues: multiple controllers can fail to connect; some MIDI setups don’t work reliably.
  • Lack of AUv3, Audiobus, and iMIDIPatchbay interoperability; no inter-app routing.
  • Chord recognition and split-zone limitations: no reliable split and chord registration; unexpected chord changes in chord modes.
  • Saving/restoring rhythm settings is buggy and unreliable.
  • No easy ability to export MIDI to a DAW (MIDI export missing or limited).

This is good but it could be greater if it was AUv3. I have issues if I have multiple midi controllers connected, the midi sometimes doesn’t connect. Also there is buzzing sound when you stop it. Doesn’t happen if hit the fad out. Nothing like this on iOS except OMB. Needs midi learn to map the controls.

I was really excited about the idea to connect my midi controller to my ipad and have the function to play chords and have my ipad play arranger/styles. I only have an cme xkey controller, which works great with GarageBand and synthesia, but does not seem to work with this app. Please refund my money, it would be most appreciated. I did in app purchase for multi track rendering and one of the other bundles..
