User Reviews

Lost Frontier is a beloved Advance Wars–style strategy game praised for depth, story, and an ad-free model, with strong mobile controls and replay value. However, recurring complaints center on harsh difficulty without a true option to ease it, several bugs that can disrupt missions, UI/UX annoyances, and the absence of online multiplayer and modern device optimizations. It remains a top pick for strategy fans, but could widen appeal with improvements and feature additions.
Pros
  • Classic Advance Wars–style turn-based strategy with deep gameplay, campaigns, and character progression.
  • Immersive story with varied unit types and meaningful progression; high replay value.
  • Ad-free experience with no pay-to-win elements; affordable upgrades; good value.
  • Polished presentation on mobile: solid graphics, music, and controls designed for phones/tablets.
  • Challenging but fair; well-balanced game that rewards strategy and learning.
Cons
  • Very high difficulty without adjustable difficulty options; many levels feel uphill.
  • Multiple bugs and glitches reported (soft-locks, broken unit abilities, balance quirks) affecting play.
  • UI/UX issues: inability to view unit ranges/terrain, excessive pop-ups, and some control clumsiness.
  • No online multiplayer; fans would like online play and spectators.
  • Not optimized for newer devices/not updated recently; notch compatibility issues; calls for updates.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Definitely has a lot of replay ability and leveling up gives you power up perks. Can play for hours. Many different characters once you beat the game with special abilities. Enjoyable for sure.

Cool game but it’s just too hard to actually enjoy. There is no reason why it should be this difficult even at lower levels. If your already fighting with less troops, then factor in your not making as much as the enemy and they can keep buying more reinforcements even while they are ahead. It doesn’t really make sense that the game does this.
