I used this app for the showers on Catalina Island. The app is glitchy and all three people in my group had issues with connectivity. I have two main issues with this app. The minimum amount you can add to your account is $10. For a two night camping trip the most you would take is two showers at $2 a shower. You cannot get a refund on your account for funds not used. You can only transfer your funds to another account. I found some new arrivals on the island and was at least able to transfer my remaining balance. A $2 shower is set to run for three minutes and 20 seconds. If you need extra time, you have to step out of the shower, open the app and start the process from scratch. You should be able to extend your shower without restarting the whole process.

The app technically works, but the overall user experience is incredibly frustrating. The UI is confusing and badly designed. You can’t even add a payment card through the app and have to go to the website instead, which is unnecessarily inconvenient. There’s also no Apple Pay support, even though this is exactly the kind of app where Apple Pay would make perfect sense instead of making users manually add a card and load credit. The notifications are also terrible. I received a notification saying my laundry cycle was “almost ready” about 20 minutes before it was actually finished. What is the point of that? An “almost ready” notification should come a few minutes before the cycle ends, followed by a notification when it’s actually done. For an app built around something as simple as paying for laundry and knowing when your clothes are ready, everything feels much more complicated and poorly designed than it needs to be.
