Identifying Major Chili Plant Pests

This application focuses on six types of pests that are most frequently found and most damaging to chili peppers in tropical Indonesia:
1. Aphids. We present data on the behavior of aphids, which suck plant sap and produce sweet dew. Farmers will be guided to understand how this sticky excrement triggers sooty mold and attracts ants, which protect the pest colony from attacks by natural enemies.

2. Thrips or Thrips parvispinus. We explain the specific symptoms, which include silvery or copper-colored spots on the underside of leaves and the phenomenon of leaves curling irregularly upward.
