Howdy Stranger Firefox

Howdy Stranger

A simple toolbar button to clear out all cookies, local storage, and session storage for the current tab's domain.

Features & Capabilities

From time to time it is useful for a domain to "forget" your browser, allowing you to use a site with a clean slate. Howdy Stranger accomplishes this by clearing out all of the data the website has deliberately saved to your browser (cookies, local storage, and session storage), then reloading the page anew. It's as if you are visiting the domain for the very first time.

Notes: Clicking this button will log you out of all sites on the current domain (e.g., example.com) The page is automatically refreshed after site data is cleared

User Reviews

It does exactly as claimed, and no more: the web-site on your active tab will treat you as if you had just connected to it for the first time, the other tabs you keep open in Firefox will not be affected. I find this very useful in many circumstances.

Is Howdy Stranger Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Howdy Stranger requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
