Home – Your New New Tab

By: itst
Home replaces your new tab with a daily landscape photo, a live clock, a daily focus reminder, and a quote. Choose your search engine, pick a photo category, and sync preferences across devices. No accounts, no tracking — just a beautiful tab.

Features & Capabilities

Home is a new tab page extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. It replaces the default new tab with a full-screen landscape photograph, a clock, a daily focus, a search bar, and a quote.

A new photo every day Each morning, a different landscape fills your screen — sourced from Pexels' library of high-quality photographs. Pick from seven categories: animals, architecture, ocean, forest, sky, pattern, or mountain. The photo is cached after the first load, so every new tab after that opens instantly.

Clock and date The current time and full date sit at the top of the page. The clock updates every minute — no seconds ticking, no distractions.

Daily focus A text field below the clock asks: "What's your focus for today?" Type an intention and click away — it saves automatically and syncs across your devices. The next day, yesterday's focus appears as a gentle reminder so you can reflect before setting a new one. Old entries are cleaned up on their own.

Search A search bar in the centre of the page, ready the moment you open a tab. Choose from DuckDuckGo (the default), Google, Bing, or Brave Search — or enter any custom search URL. Type a URL directly to navigate there. Your choice syncs across devices.

A daily quote A short quote at the bottom of the page, refreshed once a day. A small thought to carry with you.

Settings Tap the gear icon to switch your search engine or photo category. Your preferences sync across all devices where the extension is installed.

Available in 10 languages English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.

Privacy Home does not require an account. It does not collect personal data, track browsing activity, or send analytics. Preferences and cached data are stored locally in your browser. The only network requests are to fetch the daily photo and quote from a self-hosted server.

Free to install. No ads, no accounts, no tracking.
