Features & Capabilities

Hermes Browser Extension connects Firefox to the Hermes Agent runtime you configure.

Use the browser sidebar to capture bounded context from the current page, selected text, open tabs, metadata, headings, links, forms, and buttons, then ask Hermes about what you are viewing.

Choose a Local gateway, Hermes Cloud, or Remote gateway. The extension supports Hermes sessions, model and runtime controls, streaming responses, attachments, voice input when available, generated media, appearance themes, and diagnostics.

Hermes Assist provides site-aware drafting for supported writing surfaces. It can prepare replies, posts, or messages for review. It does not click Send, Post, or Submit, navigate pages, make purchases, or operate the browser autonomously.

The extension includes no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party reporting SDKs. Browser context is sent only to the Hermes runtime you configure, and Chat only mode disables page context for a turn.

Requires Firefox 142 or later. Review the privacy policy before installation.

Hermes Agent is an open-source project by Nous Research. Hermes Browser Extension is a community extension by Jon Komet that connects through a local gateway, Hermes Cloud agent tab, or self-hosted remote gateway. It is designed to live at the edge of the ecosystem without adding core tool-schema footprint.

Is Hermes Browser Extension Safe?

Risk impact

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Hermes Browser Extension requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
